Ganden Grass -

From the famed Ganden Monastery comes the essence of their exceptional incense. This is a wonderful loose incense, grassy, permeating, and refreshing. It provides an intoxicating and intriguing background for any calming or meditation activity – its freshness is pervasive. Originating from the sacred grounds of Ganden Monastery, Ganden Khenpa is also called the “Obstacle-Clearing Grass”. At a time when Tibet was plagued with illnesses, the great Lama Tsongkhapa cut and scattered his hair on the ground. Where his hair fell grew the herbal Ganden Khenpa, which has been used for generations for healing in traditional Tibetan Medicine, and made into incense for purifying spaces and for making offerings to the Buddhas. When burnt, it produces a fresh, grassy scent.

 

Lawudo -

One of my very favorite incense ingredients! The main botanical is Rhododendron Anthopogon, known as Sunpati, which is grown in Nepal.

It has a long sacred history…..The leaves and flowers have an exotic honey floral aroma with lingering sweet fruity notes. Anthopogon is used in Buddhist temples extensively. This is a wonderful calming incense for meditation to help make spiritual connections by opening the mind and heart to a free flow of positive energy through its grounding, calming, and centering properties. One of the most well-known benefits of rhododendron anthopogon is its ability to quiet an overactive mind. Made from a special selection of Junipers, Rhododendrons, and other high-altitude plants gathered in the valleys of the Everest region of Nepal. Its main ingredients, rhododendron leaves and flowers, are collected at the Lawudo Retreat Center, a Buddhist nunnery in Kathmandu, Nepal.

 

Himalayan Juniper herb and berries -

Rich, intense, and pungent with wonderfully rounded and complex tones, this is a special sang made from only the needles and berries of the Himalayan Juniper, growing at 3000 meters in regulated, protected forests. This is an exceptional sang (Himalayan Incense), beautiful on its own.

 

Lha Poi -

Lha Poi (Sacred Mountain Roots) is a high-altitude organic root of a special herb in its natural form and scent. It is found at an altitude above 4480 meters in the high and treacherous mountains of Singye Dzong – The Lion Fortress in Eastern Bhutan. This is the place where Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated. These roots are collected by the Monks and Nomadic Herders residing in these high mountains. A Bhutanese source says…” this sang is very difficult to source and the collectors live at least 3 days walk from the nearest human settlement.”

Tara is a complex and many aspected deity, she has many faces, but all are strong, wise, beautiful and filled with Compassion.

Tara is our common mother, our Holy Mother.  She protects us from immediate dangers, provides us with all our temporal needs, and guides and encourages us in our learning and personal and spiritual development.”

 

Green Tara is a prominent Buddhist deity, a female buddha known for her active compassion and swift rescue from danger, particularly in Tibetan Buddhism. She is often depicted green, representing awakened activity, green growth, and is considered a powerful force against evil and a protector from fear. 

 

She is a Deity to see us through challenging times..,
